In The News: National Injury Prevention Day 

Join us in gearing up for National Injury Prevention Day on November 18th. You can register your event through the Injury Free Coalition for Kids. You can also participate by "shining a green light" from your space that day. Watch the video to see places that lit up in green last year. It's amazing.

Updated Resources For You

 

We are excited to share that our Early Childhood and Head Start Transportation Safety Kits are now  updated. The kits are designed to reach children and families with pedestrian and school bus safety education. The material is easy to integrate into your program, with plenty of lessons and activities to fit any time slot. There's also a Spanish Extension Kit available.

Resource Spotlight:
Safe Ride News

The May/June Issue of Safe Ride News featured Washington state’s work with Afghan refugees in providing child passenger safety trainings and educational materials.* The article reminded us of the tremendous value of Safe Ride News’ publications and resources. A new edition of SRN’s Latch Manual is coming in 2023 and their monthly newsletter serves as “the most comprehensive source of essential news and information for professionals and advocates in the child passenger safety field.”

*Note: I’m Safe! had the opportunity to work with Cesi Velez, Washington’s CPS coordinator, to develop a Washington state version of the Visual Car Seat Guide for Parents in the Pashto and Dari languages for these refugee families. Please contact us at 1-877-669-7233, ext. 206, for more information about developing a version of the Guide with your state laws.
